September 9, 2008 at 7:00pm The Connective Panel on Vocal Health, Techniques & Injury Avoidance Opus 118 Harlem School of Music 103 E. 125th Street, 7th Floor (at Park Ave. between Popey's and Washington Mutual) (Map) The Connective ™ Panel Series hosts its next panel in its Emerging Artist Series on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 in Harlem at Opus 118 Harlem School of Music at 103 125th Street (at Park Avenue) in New York City at 7:00 p.m. The Connective ™ Panel Series serves to educate indie artists and musicians on the music business, serve as a networking opportunity, and raise awareness and funds for the Artist Against Hunger & Poverty Program of WHY (World Hunger Year), and Opus 118 Harlem School of Music.
The Panel Topic is “Vocal Health, Training and Injury Avoidance” Panelists include: William Riley vocal coach to Celine Dion, Faith Hill, Laura Fabian, Rosanne Cash, and President Bill Clinton, Dr. Linda Carroll, an expert in voice function and rehabilitation of injured voices, and Dr. Gwen S. Kovoran, an otolaryngologist, with a subspecialty in voice. Jennie Walker is the founder of the Connective Panel Series and will serve as the panel moderator. Jennie is a member of WHY’s Artists Against Hunger & Poverty Program (AAHP) & ASCAP.

For more information, please contact Jennie Walker at 212-541-7456 or via email at jennie@jenniewalker.com Share June 24, 2008 at 7:00pm Opus 118 Harlem School of Music Kids play Prelude for New York Philharmonic Concert in The Park The Great Lawn in Central Park, between 79th Street Transverse and 86th Street Transverse (Map) The New York Philharmonic has invited a string ensemble from Opus 118 Harlem School of Music—the school featured in the Oscar-nominated film, Music of the Heart and the Oscar-nominated documentary, Small Wonders—to perform prior to the Orchestra's concert on the Great Lawn in Central Park on Tuesday, June 24, 2008. Twenty children, ages 6 to 14, will play from 7:00 to 7:30 p.m, led by founder and conductor Roberta Guaspari, whom Ms. Streep portrayed in the film. The Philharmonic's concert, which begins at 8:00 p.m, will be conducted by Bramwell Tovey in works by Shostakovich, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, and Sousa. It is the first in the season's New York Philharmonic Concerts in the Parks, Presented by Didi and Oscar Schafer. Test Update.
